Illinois Administrative Claim Changes Effective April 1, 2009

As you may know, Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) has released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a state wide Vendor to create, run and monitor Administrative Claiming for the state of Illinois.  Upon review of the HFS RFP, as noted in the HFS informational notice dated October 30, 2008, and our attendance at the corresponding mandatory vendor conference on November 6, 2008, Go Solutions / MeccaTech determined that this HFS RFP is problematic in several key areas and has opted to not respond at this time.

We will continue to monitor the progress of HFS and the associated RFP and will continue to provide our full expertise to our contracted districts for the continued maximization of all their entitled and fully compliant Administrative Claim and FFS reimbursements. During this time the key areas to focus on include:

Direct Service (FFS) Claims - Regardless of the outcome of both the pending CMS rules and the HFS RFP, direct service (FFS) claims will remain a top priority for all our districts.  We would like to make this an opportunity to increase your claimable FFS dollars, as it may need to subsidize for what you may lose with the changes in the Administrative Claiming.  We have attached a document for your review of all the functionality GoClaim has to offer.  Please also contact us for a live walkthrough for all of you Administrative needs!

Administrative Claims - All Business Manager Worksheets (BMWs) for all quarters prior to April 1, 2009 are due, NO LATER than Friday, April 10, 2009 @ 5:00 PM, EST to ensure payment.  It is imperative that those districts who generally file one or more quarters behind have ALL BMW’s submitted by the April 10th deadline.
